This was so unexpectedly wholesome and sweet! Guthrie and Luke had such wonderful communication. They both knew their own hangups and history, and how that impacted their reactions to events...and then discussed it with each other. And recognized when it was affecting them. Just 100% perfect.

If he could trust Luke in bad weather, maybe he could also trust Luke with his heart. 

I also loved all the midwestern speech, and the storm descriptions were incredible. So vivid. It was like seeing the storms all over again - that ominous feeling when the world goes still and green......ooof. So well done.

All around a really great read!

May was not such a good month for books compared to April.   Seven DNFs, most in the first week of May. What I actually got is like a manservant/butler/valet thing with lord-servant dynamics. Weird. It read very historical in its attitudes ("lines of propriety" and such out of place ideals) I've been informed that this is an anime trope. Maybe it works there, it doesn't work here.
